Core Values

Our values embrace “cognitive biodiversity” - This involves looking at neurodiversity through the lens of biodiversity. What neuroscience now shows is that there are multiple different types of human brains (the dyslexia brain, the autistic brain, the ADHD brain, the neurotypical brain etc) that are all amazingly intricate in their own ways - each with their own incredible strengths and problematic deficits. By offering personalised support, fostering independence, promoting self-advocacy and creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to thrive, NeurodiverseLIFE provides a strength-based, solution-focused and personalised approach to your coaching journey to promote the best results for your life moving forward, now and in the future.

Vision Statement

At NeurodiverseLIFE we take a neuroscientific, psychosocial and biodiverse look at neurodiversity. What does this mean? Well, for far too long now conditions such as ADHD have been classified as disabilities and deficits to be changed, masked and moulded into society, schools and workplaces -with little to no education or support about how incredibly, neurobiologically beautiful and capable the ADHD brain REALLY is! This is largely due to the significant lack of post diagnostic care and education around neurodiverse needs. In the UK people are diagnosed with ADHD, undergo a short period of titration for medication and are then discharged. With no education, information or otherwise support.

Therefore, a vast majority of people with ADHD have very little knowledge about the truly magnificent brain they are harbouring and more importantly how to harness those differences for maximum life successes! Most of the time when people start ADHD coaching, they feel deflated, beaten down and at a loss in the world. We often hear phrases like “I am failing at life” – however, at NDL we strongly disagree – ADHD people are not failing at “life” they are usually failing at trying to adapt to neurotypical ways. You see, the ADHD brain is very different to its neurotypical counterpart, we cannot force it to operate neurotypically, it is simply not wired that way. The ADHD brain is a neurodiverse thing of beauty, with exceptional ways of operating that, when understood and utilised the correct way, make it an extraordinary strength. In a nutshell, the ADHD brain is not less, it is MORE, however up until this very moment, you have most likely not encountered lessons on what it is or how to use it… So what are you waiting for?

Coaching

Unlike therapy – which generally aims to identify and overcome psychological difficulties developed through events that happen to us in live - coaching works by providing knowledge, psychosocial education, and strategies to support us to live with neurodiverse conditions that are part of us. A good way to look at this is that, with therapy, we seek to lessen or even remove psychological outcomes formed from traumatic events in life. Differences in cognition however, such as Autism and ADHD do not “happen to us”, they are part of our genetic make-up, we were born with these conditions (on the most part) and we will have them for a lifetime. Therefore, no amount of therapy will take neurodiverse conditions away – instead we seek to live our most successful and best lives alongside our neurodiversity’s through the knowledge, psychosocial education and strategies provided thought expert coaching.

At NeurodiverseLIFE we don’t teach you how to “cope” we teach you how to unlock your hidden potential and completely THRIVE. We do this through a triangulated approach to coaching by:
  • Using a combination of therapeutic models within our coaching (CBT, MCT, DBT and ACT) to create bespoke, person centred neurodiversity coaching practices which aims to use “the right tool for the right topic” within the many areas of ADHD.
  • Proving education and information on what really goes on in that 3lb, pinky-grey, 100 billion neuron blob we call the human (ADHD) brain. In easy to understand, step by step educational tutorials, we provide you with video lessons to underpin your coaching sessions. These videos are complimentary resources (FREE) and include information on how to rewire the brain (neuroplasticity), understand the key chemicals within the brain (neurobiology) and explore variations within human brains that make us neurodiverse (neuroscience) – essentially, we look at the genetic make-up of neurodiverse minds to better understand what can and can’t be changed and how to do so.
  • Create person centred, individual coaching care pathways for each client. Exclusively customised coaching care plans are developed in accordance to the specific and most relevant needs of each clients lifestyle, age, gender, career, relationship, goals, ambitions, strengths, difficulties and desired outcomes. This means that every person receives the right coaching support for them as opposed to a prescriptive one size fits all programme.
You will often hear us say that ADHD is like maths, for example math as a subject is made up of many different parts - angles, percentages, ratio, algebra, trigonometry, the list goes on! They are all very different from each other, yet often have principles that cross over and, more importantly, in order to become successful in “math” as a whole, you need to learn (and master) all the parts – acquiring many different techniques along the way. Likewise, the key to learning any varied subject (in particular ADHD) is finding a teacher / coach that understands your learning style and can adapt their delivery to suit your specific needs. At NeurodiverseLIFE we pride ourselves on adaptability of style as much as we do materials and methodology - as such, our coaches and approaches are all about YOU!

Free Support and Resources

ADHD diagnostics have seen a rapid increase of referrals in recent years, yet despite this, there is still a significant lack of FREE accessible support, education, information and training on the matter.

Whilst the DWP Access to Work scheme is an invaluable source of support for individuals in employment or self-employment, support for individuals outside of these categories can feel very limited. It can be hard to know where to turn, who to lean on and what can be done to help support your needs.

At NeurodiverseLIFE we believe in accessible services for ALL! As a result, all of our coaches dedicate a large amount of their time to designing, producing and delivering FREE webinars, workshops and events to bring the same high standard of education and information to those otherwise unable to access it.

We host a wide variety of neurodiversity educational webinars FREE of charge for any person, patient, parent, professional or practitioner to attend and upskill their knowledge on key ADHD related topics. From the menopause to addiction, the ADHD teenage brain, sleep and circadian rhythm and so much more – we have you covered! All our free webinars can be found on Eventbrite. You can also request or recommend a webinar topic by completing our recommendation form.

We also provide a wide range of resources for parents and schools as well as a FREE prerecorded coaching taster session from each of our coaches (sign up below). If you have not already done so, you can meet our awesome teams of coaches.
