At NeurodiverseLIFE we take a neuroscientific, psychosocial and biodiverse look at neurodiversity. What does this mean? Well, for far too long now conditions such as ADHD have been classified as disabilities and deficits to be changed, masked and moulded into society, schools and workplaces -with little to no education or support about how incredibly, neurobiologically beautiful and capable the ADHD brain REALLY is! This is largely due to the significant lack of post diagnostic care and education around neurodiverse needs. In the UK people are diagnosed with ADHD, undergo a short period of titration for medication and are then discharged. With no education, information or otherwise support.
Therefore, a vast majority of people with ADHD have very little knowledge about the truly magnificent brain they are harbouring and more importantly how to harness those differences for maximum life successes! Most of the time when people start ADHD coaching, they feel deflated, beaten down and at a loss in the world. We often hear phrases like “I am failing at life” – however, at NDL we strongly disagree – ADHD people are not failing at “life” they are usually failing at trying to adapt to neurotypical ways. You see, the ADHD brain is very different to its neurotypical counterpart, we cannot force it to operate neurotypically, it is simply not wired that way. The ADHD brain is a neurodiverse thing of beauty, with exceptional ways of operating that, when understood and utilised the correct way, make it an extraordinary strength. In a nutshell, the ADHD brain is not less, it is MORE, however up until this very moment, you have most likely not encountered lessons on what it is or how to use it… So what are you waiting for?
